Releases

Innerversions - Compilation - CNM007 (LP)

‘Innerversions’ is a limited edition vinyl LP of dubwise reggae-inspired versions. Timeless tunes get the spaced out dub treatment by top Australian dub/reggae artists including The Springtones, Charlies Flat, Dubbin' Darryl, Dad Bod Dub, Crucial Rockers and Mick Dick.

"This label sampler therefore funnels four songsheet classics through a dubwise filter, from Motown to post-punk to the Rhythm & Sound era, carefully reconstructing each classic from scratch. Clearly much love has been poured into each, though by the far the maddest of the bunch is the fourth track, which squeezes a surprising amount of weight into the Police track, making for a thorough moonwalk.” Juno Records

Sweet Dreams - Dad Bod Dub - CNM002 (7 inch)

Dadboddub bring a hypnotic dub version of 80's hit ‘Sweet Dreams’ by Eurythmics featuring the soulful vocals of Zed Field.  On the B side is 'Experimental Sounds', a funky dub instrumental with spooky melodica and bubbling bongos.

"Don't let the name mislead you: the artist behind this release might be called Dad Bod Dubs, which might be suggestive of something overtly jokey or unserious, but the music on this new 7" from Cry No More is rich and textural and not flippant in the slightest. A dubbed version of Eurythmics' 'Sweet Dreams' appears on the A, coming in a completely different key and swamping the original lyrics in a wash of dub haze..." OYE Records, Germany

High On Your Love - The Springtones - CNM001 (7 inch)

A soulful reggae cover of Milwaukee soul band Kings Go Forth's cult hit ‘High On Your Love’. One drop version on the A with a spaced out Dub Version on the flip. This tune and the Kings Go Forth album 'The Outsiders are Back' have been favourites of The Springtones crew for many years and 'High On Your Love' was 'crying out' for a reggae/dub version!

"The Springtones are a refreshing addition to the Australian music scene, blending soulful vibes with reggae rhythms and a deep appreciation for vintage sounds. Their debut vinyl release, "High On Your Love," showcases their passion for old records and dubby reverberations..."Soundmag

Textures EP - Dubbin' Darryl - CNM005 (digital)

Dubbin' Darryl's debut EP 'Textures' is a four-song psychedelic exploration of dubwise rhythms with cool jazzy vibes. Straight outta the shed in Witchcliffe, South West Australia; Darryl gets heavy with an immersive wash of reverberant echoes over percolating percussion and slinky guiro grooves.

Straight from a shed in Witchcliffe, South West Australia, he comes with a haunting barrage of reverberating echoes over sparkling percussion and grooving guiro beats. Darryl, who also plays drums for the improvisational Dub band Dad Bod Dub is inspired by the funkier soul side of instrumental reggae and adds his own musical touch with distorted keyboards, organ and melodica. Today just one example: “Muckaround Dub“ sounds as if the legendary Lee 'Scratch' Perry had his magic fingers in the game. Or is it just a siren-likedubrooster echoing from the fields? Dub blog

Fanm Dub Remixes - Grace Barbe meets Charlies Flat - (digital EP)

The Cry No More crew transform Fanm from a seggae (seggae being the brain melting fusion of reggae and Indian Ocean sega) into a deep dubby afro house track, and a heavy percussive dub. Remix EP from Grace Barbé's album FANM:WOMAN out via Afrotropik Records
